Best of luck to you, Ames!
How odd to see a campus without any of the Alpha sororities!

Not entirely true, there is Alpha Kappa Alpha!!! However, I knew what you meant; no NPC Alphas.

Good luck with rush, Ames. Enjoy it the best you can and keep an open mind. Also, try to remember that if you get dropped from a house, it's often more about numbers, legacies coming through, etc. than the specific individual. There are always more great PNMs coming through than many of the more popular houses can take.
No matter which house you wind up in you'll have a great Greek experience. There are no weak sororities there. They all have a good base and lots of tradition. Fall season around LSU, no matter which sorority you're in, is fantastic so enjoy enjoy.

Ok.. so I'm heading out tomorrow! Trying to say some last goodbyes and finish up on packing for move-in tomorrow morning..Here's the schedule so far. (dont worry, I didnt type the whole thing out.. Copy & pasted from LSU's site).. I'll update more later!
Saturday, August 16, 2003: Sorority Recruitment begins. Potential members check in (between 9:00 am and 12:00 noon) and receive packet. This is also the day potential new members check into the residence halls. Following check in, there will be a Parent Information Session in the Royal Cotillion Ballroom of the Student Union. This is only for parents because potential new members will have their own convocation at 5:00 pm in the Royal Cotillion Ballroom of the Student Union. After both the Parent Informational Session and the Potential New Member Convocation, there will be meetings with the potential new member's Gamma Chi (Greek recruitment counselor).
· Sunday, August 17: Round 1- 1:00 pm potential new members pick up invitations to each of the ten sorority houses in the Abell Room of the Lod Cook Alumni Center; which is located right next to sorority row. Parties begin at 1:30 pm and end at 4:40 pm, which will be followed by a dinner break. After dinner, potential new members return promptly to sorority row to resume the party schedule at 6:15 pm. Parties last until 7:25 pm and Gamma Chi meetings begin at 7:40 pm.
· Monday, August 18: Continuation of Round 1. Parties run from 1:30 pm to 5:20 pm, followed by a dinner break. Gamma Chi meetings will follow dinner at 6:30 pm.
· Tuesday, August 19: 8:00 am potential new members meet with their Gamma Chi's, to make selections for the next set of parties, known as Round 2. Round 2, also known as Philanthropy, consists of a maximum of seven parties. At 2:30 pm Potential new members pick up invitations in the Abell Room of the Lod Cook Alumni Center. Parties will follow immediately at 3:00 pm and last until 6:45 pm. A dinner break follows the last party and Gamma Chi meetings begin at 8:00 pm.
· Wednesday, August 20: Continuation of Round 2 and begins at 9:30 am. Parties run until 2:45 pm with a lunch break from 11:15 am to 1:00 pm. Gamma Chi meetings begin at 3:00 pm.

· Friday, August 22: Final day of parties known as Preference Party. This round will consist of a maximum of 3 parties to attend. Potential new members make selections at 10:00 am with their Gamma Chi's and parties begin at 6:00 pm. Potential new members sign their preference cards after their last party and have until 11:00 pm; depending on how many parties they attend.
· Saturday, August 23: Bid Day begins at 5:00 pm. All potential new members will gather in the Noland/Laborde Hall of the Lod Cook Alumni Center where the final Convocation will be held and bids will distributed. Following the bid distribution, new members will be taken to their new sorority house where there will a D.J. and fun festivities planned for the remainder of the night.
