NATCHITOCHES, La. — A gunman opened fire in a classroom at Louisiana Technical College on Monday, killing one student and wounding another, police said.
Police were seeking a 22-year-old man believed to be a student at the school, said Assistant Police Chief Chris Stanfield.
The shooting happened about 11:30 a.m. in an electronics class at the vocational-technical school's Natchitoches campus, Stanfield said.
"He came into the classroom and fired four or five times," Stanfield said.
Police were not sure of a motive, Stanfield said. The victims' identities were not immediately released.
Classes were canceled for the day after the shooting at the school, which is in the northwestern part of the state.
