I just wanted to let you all know that Tracy Watler, an A*Phi from Omega (UT-Austin) is going to be on the Fox News Network on Monday. She along with two of her fellow broadcast news students at from KVR News 9 won the
Fox News College Challenge so they’ll be in New York City this weekend and will appear on
"Dayside with Linda Vester" from 12-1pm on Monday, April 11. So if you can watch, she'd greatly appreciate it!
Fox News Channel, the #1 cable news channel in America, is excited to introduce a nationwide contest for undergraduate broadcast journalism students called the "Fox News Channel College Challenge". The competition's mission is to recognize, encourage and support excellence in broadcast journalism in America's colleges and universities. The "Fox News Channel College Challenge" requires teams of two to four students (juniors and seniors only) majoring in broadcast journalism or an equivalent, to research, write, produce and submit an objective broadcast news story from the list of topics provided.

More About Tracy
Tracy is currently focusing on a major in Broadcast Journalism with the College of Communication honors program minor and plans to pursue a career as a local TV reporter.
To sharpen her skills in broadcast journalism she interned in Houston at the WB39 News Station where she shadowed reporters and researched and wrote her own stories. Since the fall semester of 2003 she has been a staff member of KVR News where she produced and crewed nightly updates as an Associate Producer and now serves as Assistant News Director. Tracy was awarded Rookie of the Year at KVR News and First Place in TV Newswriting from the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association, both in the Spring of 2004.
Tracy works hard at maintaining an excellent GPA of 3.96, is involved in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Order of Omega, she has received University Honors for 5 consecutive semesters, and she is in the College of Communication Senior Fellows Honors Program. She was also involved with The Roundabout Players, an on-campus theatre troop, where she acted in Robin Hood and The Vagina Monologues.
Tracy joined Alpha Phi in the Fall of 2002 and has served as New Member Class President and then as the Assistant to the New Member Educator and finally as the New Member Educator.
