VP of Alumnae and Heritage- Please Help

Im looking for help on getting our alumnae more involved with our chapter. I am getting ready to send out an email to all of our alumnae but I have no clue where to start. If anyone has had this position previously or has any ideas for me please respond.

One way our chapter keeps in close contact with our alum is through the Alum Auction we have once a semester. The Alumnae Chapter would come in about an hour early before our chapter meeting starts, and they auction off their ASA goods. It's an excellent way to get stuff for bigs and lils. Another idea (a suggestion I had placed this past year) was to have a potluck dinner between the alum members, active sisters, and their family members.

Welcome to GC!

When I was VP of A&H, I tried to put together an Alumna/Family weekend where the Alumna could bring their families to the house for the weekend. (Actually, it was more of a brilliant plan to get legacies more interested...) but we were closed before it happened.

We also have an Alum and family day. Maybe start a yahoo group for everyone both actives and alum. Our chapter has a yahoo group and it works great you send an email to one address and it goes to everyone. You may also want to get feedback from the alum maybe send out a survey of some sort asking them what they would like to do. Good luck!

Hi! What chapter are you from?

A yahoogroup is a great start - it helps you to figure out what the majority of interested alums would like because there are as many opinions as there are people. Some want to come back on homecoming and have an event then, some don't want to deal with the crowds. Some want a banquet and fancy dinner, some would be just as happy with a picnic. The average age of your alums also has a good deal to do with it. So does the amount of alumnae who actually stay in the area.
