The link is to a presentation by the Chair of the History Subcommittee of the International History & Archives Committee, Bro. Jonathan Matthews, who profiles the life of one of the most influential and impactful members in the history of the Fraternity, Bro. J. Alston "Jack" Atkins. Bro. Atkins served as the 9th Grand Basileus (National President) while a student at the Yale Law School. It highlights how fraternity life is intertwined with family, professional life, community life and the fight for social justice among the so-called "Talented Tenth" in the Black community. (His legacy continues in his great-grandson, Bro. Harvey Allen III (Psi Chapter '15), a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Morehouse College who was a Founders' Memorial Award recipient at the 80th Grand Conclave. He is now a M3 at the Duke University School of Medicine.)
