Rechartering Local SUNY Fraternity. Any Operations Training Seminars Available?
Hi Brothers and Sisters,
My name is Frank Filippetti. I'm an alumnus of Psi Phi Fraternity, Beta Chapter, Bufalo State College-SUNY, founded 1923 and went inactive 1972. We're looking to recharter our alumni association this spring, with the intent to recharter our active chapter on the same campus in several years. We want to do it right! We're aware of the risk management problems nowadays. We have two other chapters that are surviving. We want to model ourselves after successful, national greeks in the SUNY system. Naturally, we'd run our fraternity as a business on a smaller scale. I believe that Greeks must move into the 21st Century in order to survive. I've read about risk management nightmares. I don't want any part of that, or any of the negative stereotypes people hold of Greek organizations. I believe in rushing students of good character, leadership, strong in academics, and service oriented. I know I'm idealistic. Training our brothers in operations, etc. is of utmost importance. I'm basically doing this as a "hobby", and realize the work I have ahead of me. I believe the importance of Greeks on campuses, and all the contributions we've given over the years. Do any of you know of training seminars on how to successfully operate a small, local fraternity? I hope to be visiting a very successful national fraternity at a SUNY Campus this spring. Thanks to those of you brothers and sisters that helped me in the past. I look forward to your advice. Fraternally, Frank, Fall, '69
