I wonder what some of those brides are going to do when the wedding's *gasp* over and it's all they could think/talk about for the past 2ish years. Part of me thinks that some of those crazies are more interested in the wedding itself than having a life with their fiances (and will be headed for Divorceville in a few years).

I popped over to the Not Engaged Yet forum for sec, since you guys were talking about it and spotted a thread in which girls COMPLAINED ABOUT THEIR PROPOSALS. As in they're depressed because their proposals "weren't as romantic as their friends." One girl actually said that she never told her friends how she got engaged "because it wasn't good enough."

Seriously?

I thought I had seen it all, but this was over the top! Well, no matter what the dress, why not have it (and you) made into a cake??

For any of you looking for a NON snarky sight that has FAB ideas go to www.weddingbee.com. it is a collection of Bloggers and message boards... but no one is as snarky as the crazies on the knot.com. I go to the knot for ideas.. but have NEVER braved the boards. O.M.G. Your proposal wasn't "good" enough ?! GEEZ.

One of my friends was like this and it was (is?) really sad. She was *obsessed* with getting engaged. Then she was *obsessed* with planning her wedding...to the point where that was literally all she could talk about and she wouldn't have conversations that weren't about her "big day." I was one of her bridesmaids and it was an awful experience. Her wedding was the last weekend of October and since then, nearly every conversation we've had has been about her honeymoon, her wedding photos, or all of the new stuff she got as wedding gifts. Its like she's forgotten how to think about anything other than her wedding.

Of course, she hasn't spent any time writing thank you cards...

Those girls remind me alot of some girls I know. The ones that have been with a guy for like 1.5-2 years, and he's taking his time, but these girls are DYING to get engaged.

They have the "when are we getting engaged" talk every day and it drives him nuts. Everytime he takes her out to dinner or somewhere nice, she gets all excited, thinking "OMG he's going to propose" then gets upset when "it was just a nice dinner" and he doesn't.

They have their entire wedding planned from A-Z, yet they are not engaged. Every third word out of their mouths is "for my wedding" or "when ____ and I get engaged."

Can you tell I'm a 20 something college grad with lots of sisters in long term relationships who say this stuff all the time?
I have a friend who has done that and if it annoyed me, I can't imagine how annoyed he was. I would say thank God he finally proposed, but now they fight about wedding plans so it's only gotten worse!

Pretty pathetic... I agree.

I was emotional before the wedding due to stress and didn't feel like getting chewed out by a bunch of people I've never met. Some of those women are like vultures.

All I have to say is WOW. I love the Knot, but maybe that's because I don't use the forums...

Thanks! The dress is ordered, so it is going to be a few months before it comes in. I am probably going to have the alterations done down there. But when I finally get pictures in it, I will share.

I just deleted a bunch of posts in this thread. If the fighting continues, I will have to lock the thread which sucks because this is a good topic. In other words, stop fighting. Thx.
