One stereotype I've heard a lot is by joining an organization means you are "paying for friends." As a PNM, that always bugs me.

That line irritates me to no end. So apparently if you are hanging out with non greek friends you never spend a cent. Any kind of clsoe relationship will have finacial obligations.

Oh I've got one.....and they actually did do this and an administration did say this to me personally about a month ago!
The university did NOT do a feasibility study before planning, designing, and getting the board of regents approval to build Greek housing....WHY?!?!?!?
Because they think we're all RICH!
I love how Greeks get to pay for new dorm and cafeteria with our parlor fees (ask how I feel about this).

Its always fun when you have people who think they know what youve done through out your pledge process. Some of the things i hear are ridiculous.

Listen everyone... StOp MaKiNg FuN oF mE!!! I DID pay for my freinds. I had already met ppl and made some freinds when I started college, but I wanted more+++!!!!!!! I figured, why not fork out 100s of $$$ a semester for more ppl to like me!?!? It just made good cents!!!!
Drinking is my hobby. I live for it. If I'm not on the floor nearly passsssed out, I haven't had enough to drink!
I sleep w/ guys like it's my jobb. Dont ask for there names tho cuz I could prob only tell u 1/2 of them and thats just embarrrrrasssssing!!!
& hazing... don even get me started!!!!
My GPA was so low when I graduated, I don even know how I got my diploma! I walked across the stage an I saw every1 staring, wondering "Why is she even here?!?!"
Actually, the only reason I prob got it is cuz my daddy is so rich, Im sure he paid off the skool. After he brung me that pony when I was 6, I new I was set 4 life.

The scary thing is I have met people like that that are GDI's. Though they might be greek by now, which would be a real shame.

I hate the don't call a fraternity a frat thing. I call my frat a frat, and I don't abbreviate the word country because it's 2 syllables long. Whoever made up that saying is a puss.

But mine is a heart and that's way better than what some museum people say!

We had a rush shirt that said "If you're gonna pay for your friends, you might as well pay for the cool ones."

A couple stereotypes, aside the ones already names:
That were a bunch of girly girls who just party plan and schmooze (actually most of my chapter are self-described "not the sorority types")
And conversely, were a bunch of manly-types who beat pledges up and such. I mean I look tough but I wouldn't bust a grape in a food fight.
