The Shack- by William Young

Has anybody else read this NY Times bestseller? It's far from your regular kind of book.

So as not to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it, I will simply say:

It was my church featured it as the book of the month in May. I agree with your assessment 100 percent. I was like that the whole time

I work in a bookstore and it has been FLYING off the shelves. It seems like every other customer has a copy in their pile at check-out. I never read Christian fiction, but I'm starting to get curious ...

I can't describe it. I'm not sure I could call it fiction. All I know is that the counselors at my sons' camp couldn't put it down and last night, neither could I.

Today I read a book in the same genre, The Cross Gardener, by Jason E. Wright.

Just. WOW.

Carnation- did you ever read the Left Behind series by LaHaye and Jenkins? I got the first book as my high school graduation gift, and read the first few, but I never did get through the whole series after I left to join the navy. After I finish my MBA in December, I intend to start reading from book 1 again, and hopefully will finish this time...

I got The Shack for Christmas this year, and I read the entire thing on the plane ride from Atlanta to Cali on my way to see hubbys family. I loved it.

I was warned about The Shack, so haven't read it, but I did read the Left Behind Series. I waited until it was finished and read it one after the other. Normally, if I'm going to read Christian fiction, I stick with the Amish/Mennonite type. I especially like Beverly Lewis.

But here's a : one of my better friends is a ghost writer & editor for Christian books! I asked her how a believing Christian could allow someone to ghostwrite for him or her, and she told me that, when you see "with Unknown Name" or "edited by Unknown Name", you can pretty much guess that it's ghostwritten.
