According to this webpage, there already are 3 locals at University of Ottawa.

Hi,
I'm the ΣΘΠ© International president, from Montreal.
We have a program that helps to create sororities on Canada and France..
So if you want some info...

But the best way, it's to begin here: Ottawa Soro

As I just established a local myself this past year along with the other FMs at Carleton, in Ottawa (ravens shit on geegees btw lol) I do have to wonder what does Ottawa U not offer that you're looking for in their lists of sororities? I would have to throw out the name Xi Delta Theta if you haven't looked into rushing them yet - they're amazing girls to be friends with.

Let me know what you're thinking/who you are even, as I've went through a lot with my sorority being created and accepted in the Greek community, which takes a lot of time, organization, and planning, and a lot of patience - not to mention money.

I second what ApplePiePhi says, although I left Ottawa a couple of years ago there are still Xi Delta Theta, Sigma Psi Alpha and Nu Sigma Pi and Tri Delt operating out of Ottawa U. Don't start a local just to start one, with the very large Greek Community in Ottawa make sure to check out what alreday exists, local and international, before going ahead and creating another.

Ask yourself if you have enough women who would join when you are directly competing with already establishe groups. Talk to presidents of other locals in the area and ask them what challenges they faced and what they would recommend to you.

1. The OP started this thread a year ago. I doubt she's still around.

2. Are you a founder of your own sorority? Why would you question her wanting to create an organization?
