I wonder what it must be like to find out that you were extended a bid based on these requirements. Every sorority chapter I've been familiar with while in college and beyond had a range of looks, etc. Even the chapters at my alma mater who were known for having the gorgeous girls had a mix of looks, body types, etc. There was no one house on campus known for just its looks. And if I understand things correctly, this 'attractiveness' recruitment strategy began at my alma mater...things were quite different back then (late 70's). I'd love to know the genesis of this strategy...

I hope these collegians understand their power and find strength in uniting with other collegiate chapters to take on the EO. This is the Greek Life version of #TimesUp. It needs its own hashtag.

Do you realize that if they "take on the EO" and shut their chapters/sororities down, they will move on to something else? I don't think they will just wipe off their hands, high five each other and say "Good job everyone. Let's go grab a half caf, mocha, free-range, organic, cruelty free, soy latte with a light foam" and call it a night. Might Pan-Hellenic fraternal organizations be next? MCGLOs?

I think you misunderstand me and is likely my error for not being clear enough. The collegians have more power to force the EO to reform their recruitment practices. That is clearly needed, especially since Alpha Phi's strategies are specifically being called out in some of their abolish greek life movements as the evidence of systemic racism. It is embarrassing and it should have changed a long time ago. Lord knows many of us have been trying.

Thank you. I did not understand that you were referring to recruitment practices.
