Colonizing

There is a sorority colonizing on my campus in the fall. Since I'm rushing this year, how does the whole colonizing process work?

Recruitment for a new sorority usually begins after the existing sororities complete their formal recruitment. The colonizing team generally consists of people from HQ and members of nearby chapters.

In most cases, the colonizing group will present preliminary info during formal recruitment. Either your rush group will visit them during open houses, or they will give a large presentation at orientation.

In addition, if you do not match during FR, I would expect they would be contacting you. The no-bid list is a good starting point for them to reach girls who have already expressed interest in greek life.
