"The Grey" was... eh. I gave it 3 stars out of 5.

I was asked to see Red Tails but I had already seen it so we saw One for the Money instead. I think out of kindness to him, we should have seen Red Tails. OftM was so awful it was kind of awesome. The jokes were so ridiculously corny that they were funny and any movie with an ending I cannot predict automatically gets 2.5 stars. This movie got 2.5 stars.

I have no clue if it stayed true to the book or if KH was true to the character because I didn't read it. I didn't buy her as a simple Jersey girl but her performance was decent and her hair is fabulous. She should stay a brunette for awhile. I got a little tense in some of the chase scenes but that's about it. For the most part, it was a little exasperating the way Stephanie was pretending not to be a dumb girl who was bitter over a man who broke her heart way too long ago yet continually acted that way. At one point I said "This movie could have been over an hour ago" and my companion said "Glad I'm not the only one who feels that way." The character makes you want to smack some sense into her but she slightly redeems herself at the end (which is the only reason I didn't see it as a total waste of money). See it if you love movies so awful that they're entertaining.

I didn't want to watch it because I knew I was going to get mad, but she watched one of my movies first so just out of respect for her, I watched hers too. That movie highly PISSED me off. I don't need to watch movies like that during a work week. Watching movies like that on the weekend is always good for me because it gives me time to cool off. I went to work mad about that movie. I don't hit females, but I wanted to reach into that screen and slap the living shit out of that red headed bitch in the movie. Just my take on the movie.
I was going to respond to this last night, but I just want to say that when I began to watch it, I turned it off about 1 hour into it. I dunno, it's just that movies like that really disgust me.

That sounds pretty much like the book. The jokes are ridiculous, Lula is a big silly stereotype, Grandma Mazur is absolutely hilarious. Stephanie is supposed to be a plain Jersey Girl and her relationship with Joe matures a lot over the books. She also gets involved with Ranger (was he in this movie?) and goes between the two a lot. It's more comedy than suspense, always. She destroys vehicles so frequently it becomes a huge joke.

Thank you. The movie makes so much more sense now. You're dead on about Lula and Grandma. Even though Lula had "I'm a stereotype" printed on her forehead, she was likable and almost as funny as Grandma. Yes, Ranger is in the film and your post explains why I kept getting the "love interest" vibe from him even though Stephanie was hung up on Joe. And she switched cars so much, I wondered if it was a theme!

OMGSPOILAAAAAR: There is a point where a guy curses God as he steals Stephanie's car and I said "He's gonna get struck down" and no lie, 5 seconds later, Stephanie's car blows up! Totally called it!

Sounds like I want to see it then Sounds pretty close to the books, at least in character development.

I hated that movie so much. It angered me but not for the reasons that it angered you.

There is a The Help thread with a very lively discussion. LOL. Please share your thoughts in that thread but do not quote the old posts.
Where is that thread? I tried looking for The Help thread too, but I couldn't find it.

Me too. I didn't want to watch it because I knew it was going to make me mad, but my girl wanted to watch it, so I had to. I feel you, though.

Over the weekend, we went to see "Woman in Black". I thought it was really boring. I mean, there were some parts that were really, really creepy, but most of it was boring. I almost fell asleep. I gave it 2 stars out of 5. Plus, I don't really like the Harry Potter guy. Maybe because I don't like Harry Potter, I dunno, but he just made it extra boring, kind of.

I thought about seeing that movie, but it didn't look that scary to me. You don't know what your missing with Harry Potter, though. Have you read any of the books?

Nah, Harry Potter doesn't interest me. Nope, I haven't read any of the books.

LOL! Cheerful, how are you gonna up and say you don't have any interest in Harry Potter and then turn around and say you never read the books? Have you at least seen any of the movies?

Harry Potter does not interest me and I have not read the books or watched more than 15 minutes of a movie. Twilight does not interest me and I have not read the books or watched more than 15 minutes of a movie. I like "the Harry Potter guy" because I DO think it is a cool concept. I do NOT like the Twilight concept because it is a disservice to vampires and werewolves everywhere.

Cen1aur1963, I am sure there are shows and movies that do not interest you although you have not read the books or watched an entire episode or movie.

There.

Love it.
I haven't read the Twilight series or seen the movies, either. It's just not my thing. I'd like to steal what you wrote above whenever asked to justify my aversion to the series. K?

I saw Chronicle. Interesting concept, relatively well-acted. While there are some funny moments, it's definitely not a feel-good movie. Quite heavy, really. But, it's worth seeing. (I don't know if it's worth theater prices. I'm glad we paid the matinee price.)
