Is it hard to get into a sorority as a 22 year old sophomore. I should be a junior but I transferred so they took some credit hours from me. Also when I lost my sister I took a year off. Idk what to say at recruitment?

Yes do tell the truth. Lying, will only come back to bite you.

Also keep in mind that being a sophomore might be a hinderance depending on how competitive recruitment is at your particular school. So do keep an open mind to all of the groups and be prepared for potential cuts due to being a sophomore. Wishing you the best of luck! And please keep us posted (after recruitment). :-)

Not saying I wouldn't tell the truth. My school is fairly small and not that competitive. I guess we will just see what happens

I'm all for optimism and such, but being a 22 year old and an upperclassmen at a deep south recruitment, I am a bit hesitant about...... I'm thinking the best bet would be to do colorguard in the fall and see if any chapters are COBing in the spring.

Yes you just emailed me this. But I prefer to try anyway and see how that goes. There have been girls my age get accepted at my school.

You asked if it is hard to get into a sorority as a 22 year old sophomore. Yes, it is damn hard, especially where you are located. I'm sorry you don't like the answer. I do hope things work out for you. And yes, as others have said, tell the truth at recruitment.

Also, make sure you have references secured for each chapter on your campus. These will be essential. And do so ASAP as you said your recruitment is starting soon.

Did I miss something? A deep south school without football? Does not compute.

It's not that I don't like the answer. I just don't see why it's such a big deal when there are women my age and older in the sororities. I go to a commuter college and it is smaller and it is not as competitive as schools with a huge Greek life. I do want to take my chances and at least try and I appreciate your advice very much.. But I would like to at least try and if I fail then I can say I did it

Yes no football team just basketball. I go to a commuter school and so it's pretty different from other schools

there are lots of schools in the deep south that don't have football. She didn't say SEC - just deep south...and commuter - several schools come to mind...UAB being on since they don't have football until 2017...

That would have made more sense if she would have mentioned the commuter thing earlier. I think a post or two has flown away. Girl girl
