Sounds as if some are eating light for a few days, saving room for the Big Feast!

Yes! I didn't fully realize it, until you mentioned it. We are having honey mustard chicken and plain sautéed spinach tonight.

Seared shrimp with ginger. I had leftover roasted green beans from last night.

Hearty ground beef and vegetable soup, with a piece of homestyle bread to sop up the leavings in the bowl. Spinach and purple grapes. Water and a small milk. I love to eat healthy!

Steamed mussels because it's so easy and I don't want to leave the house in the cold rain.

We had a baked hen, cornbread-sausage dressing, mustard greens, dilled carrots, roasted broccoli and cauliflower, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, crustless pumpkin pie and pecan pie. We are at our "in the process of being built" mountain cabin, so I cooked at home-although we did get the kitchen appliances-it had been a toss up whether or not we would have them. A dear childhood friend and her husband drove up from Atlanta and dined with us. We had such a great time!

Sounds lovely, FSUZeta!
DH's sister & brother-in-law love to cook, and claim that they're happiest when feeding people. They made the whole Thanksgiving dinner, then assigned each of us who usually attend a time to come to their "Thanksgiving Drive Thru"! They are also maniacs about social distancing, masks, etc, so it was a wonderful idea. If they do the same for Christmas, I'm going to insist on making something to give them the day before, though, so it can be added to the spread.
We had turkey, dressing (omigosh, theirs is the best!), mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, corn, cranberries, biscuits, and rolls, with a choice of chocolate cake or carrot cake. I bought a pumpkin pie, as it's a favorite of DH.
My favorite part is that I didn't even gain ONE pound!! Woo Hoo!
