When they both had beards during the winter, the resemblance was startling. My husband has a ginger beard, so does Walt. Husband has bushy eyebrows, dog has bushy eyebrows...

The more I hear about Costco, the more I'm convinced I should shop there more often!
I'm confused - there are tons of brands here that are all over the place - where are you doing your grocery shopping? Hillshire Farms just opened a huge office in the West Loop - maybe they'll increase their market share here?

Whatever, Vienna Beef or GTFO.

I can, but having a vending machine business isn't my purpose in life. I enjoy helping animals which are companions to the people who own them. To me, there is no greater sense of joy and peace than to lay my head down at the end of the day knowing that I was used to help someone, to add something to someone else's life.

And if I'm getting paid for it, well, that's even better.

What I feel like saying now: I slept so well. Best nap ever, and the rain and thunder didn't make me wake up any faster.

I might have to put my chinchillas down..... The teeth issues are getting progressively worse. They just had a teeth trim two weeks ago and are already showing signs of discomfort. When I picked them up from the last appointment, the vet said she thought we were getting to the point where it was going to be hard to maintain comfort. I emailed her. We'll see what she says.

Ugh. This sucks. They are only 6 years old.

Mariano's, Jewel Osco, or Dominick's. They all carry something in Hillshire Farms, but not the Polska ones. I admit it, I'm a fussy eater. I've been considering using Peapod, if I can get exactly what I want! DH doesn't eat any red meat, so I get to pick out my brands to a point.

See, this just grosses me out! I'm a mustard, maybe some onions on my hot dog girl, and the hot dog itself MUST be charred (browned, broiled, whatever). It makes most Chicagoans gag a little, but it's the only way I can do it.

It's funny because I don't typically like mustard or pickles but all of that together = heaven.

I like a charred SuperDawgs, with the pickle on the side! I suppose it's like the Pittsburgh Primanti's sandwich - it's really gross to out of towners (until you try it!).

Well then.

I just got an email from a student via the contact form on my school website.

In the email, he confessed having had a crush on me since his freshman year (when I taught him). And, he ends the email by asking me not to tell his mom. I guess my reputation as being the teacher-that-always-calls-moms-for-everything is more nerve wracking than confessing a crush.

I'm getting a new car, but I'm still trying to see what would be a good buy. So many manufacturers to choose from.

I just got a 2013 Nissan Maxima last week. If you like Nissan, you'll love this car. Still feels a bit weird after driving a Honda for so many years, but I'm adjusting.
