Nothing beats the original. And I hope this doesn't sound bad and i'm not trying to throw shade at Sissy Spacek, but am I the only one who thinks Chloe Moretz (the playing Carrie in the remake) is a little too pretty?

The original realness was captured in the first Carrie with Sissy Spacek because she was kind of an oddball. I liked that she was weird. I even read these little trivia facts on IMDB.

And it's hard for me to imagine Carrie as an outcast if she's pretty and blends in with the others despite her powers.
I completely agree with you. You're not throwing shade on Sissy Spacek at all. She was an oddball in the original and that worked beautifully. She was brilliant in that film.

Just the other day, I read an article about the original film. It's a very good read for anyone who appreciated the original.

As far as I'm concerned, there was no reason to remake it.

Carrie, Carrie, don't go to the prom!

As far as Sissy Spacek, she is one of those girls who can look freakish but with the right makeup, hair and attitude, makes you believe she is beautiful. I'm so not buying Julianne Moore as the mom, though. You know who would have been the whipped cream shiznit in that part? Courtney Love. Yep. Think about it.

Chloe Moretz would've been better as Chris Hargenson than Carrie. She even resembles Nancy Allen a bit.
