My school turned into a scene from the Matrix Reloaded this week!
For some unknown reason, although staff and faculty suspect theft, the university contracted a locksmith to change all the locks in a eight floor facility. This included classroom closets as well. The problem was that notification was not given until complaints started coming to the facility management center. You see, the locksmith didn't begin his work until the lunch hour, when most classes were out, and the teachers were out of their offices. It was only when they began to get prepared for their next class that they realized that they could not get in. The office secretary was able to unlike the outside classroom doors, but not the closets or the offices. As we were sitting in class the frustration of the instructor was apparent, as she did not have the tools to teach since they were locked away in the closet. Halfway through the lecture we begin to hear keys jingling down the hall. Across the hall one of the instructors yelled "its the key man. Get him." My instructor stopped the lecture and begin running toward the door. When the other teacher got him first, all the others began lining up in the halls. To make the episode even better the teachers began to shake their keys at him. Throughout the hall all one heard was the jingling of angry instructors keys. When the man turned around, all he could say was that he was following orders, and new keys would have to be obtained from the center. Too bad for them, we got out of class early
