Too old to join a sorority?
I'm 22 years old and I'm planning on transferring to Old Dominion University, and I'm interested in rushing but I'm afraid that the girls will be like "who is this old lady trying to pledge?" I know that there is no official age cut-off, but will being older be something that is strange to the sororities? Is it weird?
Depending on what credits transfer, I will either be a sophomore or junior at ODU. I took some time off from college a couple years ago and now I'm at SCAD but I'm not enjoying myself there. Can anyone give me advice or let me know what to do to increase my chances? Please be honest! Thank you!

Be a bit more discreet, and do a search. Or look at the links at the bottom of the page. Now open them.

Ok, dude, STOP. I know you're trying to be helpful but you're accomplishing the exact opposite. There are schools out there where her age would be a huge handicap. There are also schools where it wouldn't. Unless you go to ODU and you know for a fact that age doesn't matter as far as getting a bid to a sorority, you can't just tell her across the board that she doesn't have to worry about it.

There was a girl in my pledge class who was 25 and another who was 22. But our campus had suites and not houses. New member classes were 16-30 depending on the year. But your school might be different.

It just REALLY depends on the org, I mean do you want associate with a certain age group or do want to join a sorority for what they are? Check them all out, see if they want you for u.
