Can you become a member at another school?

What's Up?

I'm a band member at TSU. We once had a chapter of K K PSi but do to reasons beyond our control it has been inactive for like 20+ years. Is it possible for me to do KK Psi at another school and still be at Tennessee State.

There's some community college students that I've heard that are members of KKPsi becuz they take the band class at the 4 year school. It's possible but you'd have to register with them and pay the fees. After that you have to be an outstanding band member and be under consideration.

Or why not recolonize? Get an interest group going and inform the national office that you'd like to recolonize your school.

Not a good idea

I don't know who this is, but you should know who I am. When I was at TSU, I told you guys the procedures. If you try to go to another school and get the letters, you will only be hurting yourself.... trust me on that. If those certain intricate problems in your band are not resolved, then you can forget it. Going to another school to pledge won't give the Band Director or the music department the support it's suppose to get from the chapter of that designated school. I set the colonization packet up for you guys and Prof. Graves approved it. When the problems continued, he disapproved. It wasn't because of any of you guys though, but you know this, unless you were a part of the problem. Keep in mind that a chapter is under investigation now for what you are talking about. Check my website for my contact info.

Octave of chaos in right on about this. Don't try to back door this one. TSU left and in order to come back on, all steps have to go right for both the administration and the national organizations. It will just slow it down more if you go around it.

Yes, the community college thing does work, but you have no KKPsi close by.

Use Octave as a resource and if anyone is interested in more info on Tau Beta Sigma there, I can help in that area. I live in NASHVILLE and I am the national officer responsible for new chapters for Tau Beta Sigma.

Well, first let me start off by saying I dont know either one of you. Im a new member to the AristoCRAT of Bands but Im a Sophomore. Since HS I have wanted to be a member of Kappa Kappa Psi. My best friend pledged at Langston University - Delta Alpha Chapter. I know the situation to some extent about what happened. But I wanted to goto another school and pledge because I love what the organzation stands for. If there is anything I can do to become a legal member please email some advice.

I am not trying to instigate or anything, but if you want to be in, shouldn't you be emailing Octave instead of waiting for an email?

Probably the best thing to find out is to know exactly WHY the chapters were taken away in the first place.

I am also trying to reactivate a sorority on my campus that has been inactive for 24 years, so I know it will be difficult, but if you are diligent, it will work out for you!
