Northwestern Recolonization
It looks like Northwestern had a successful recruitment. According to this article, they extended bids to about 115 women. Best wishes to our newest Zeta sisters! ZL, Courtney

GO NU!
I am one of the new Zetas at Northwestern University! We currently have 118 girls and just formed our EC and PC boards!! We are all pledges right now, and just getting to know each other, but all the girls seem wonderful!!
We will have our own house with girls living in starting next Fall and are super excited to be a part of ZTA!
ZLAM,
Liz

Ohh Liz
Tehe,
Liz -- I just joined the forums yesterday....we are a little too like minded you and I.....Good luck with your finals BTW!
Oh yeah and thanks for staying with me for those 6 fabulous hours at the house on friday putting up decorations and then taking down afterward. I assume you are the Liz I am thinking of.
For all the girls on the forum, our first "public" social event went really well and we had plenty of guys there.

welcome liz and stacy. enjoy your colonization/pledge process.
i have been advising our kappa tau chapter at fl. gulf coast university, since they were a colony, so i have a bit of an idea what you all will go thru. enjoy every minute of it and be proud of yourselves. you have so much more to do being a colony, but the extra work will pay off in the end!!
if you should become tired or discouraged, talk to another sister, a tlc or one of your advisors. just hang in there!! all my kappa tau girls say that it is so worth it in the end( and it really is).

I have to agree with the PP... it is an amazing experience. I'm a charter member of the Kappa Phi chapter, and while it has been hard work getting the chapter off the ground, it is an absolutely amazing feeling when the chapter does well. Our entire chapter cried when we pledged quota for the first time

Thanks
Thanks for all your advice and wishes of luck. I think we are already amazed that we instantly became one of the biggest sororities (female fraternity that is) on campus. We had over 200 girls interested and ended up with 118, which is absolutely extraordinary. It will definitely be a struggle to make a permanent home for ourselves on campus but the support we've already received has been phenomenal and I have no doubt that it will continue. Thanks again!
ZL,
Liz

The Retreat!
Hi people!
I thought you guys might want to know how our retreat was...fantastic!
We spent the night in a gymnastics center with all kinds of other fun things too. We did crafts and sung songs, challenges too. Even though the lights went out, we were all still up at 4AM talking. It was totally an old school sleepover by the end of the night, only with over 100 girls.
I was the first person injured, sprained ankle. People immediately helped me and were kind enough to keep me company whenever I looked lonely, sometimes when I didn't. My crafty stuff was super elaborate, as was the other girl who had an even worse ankle than mine....
Thanks to all the Zetas for their support! Things are going really good for us!
Stacy

Part of the original ZTA Northwestern Chapter
I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful it made me feel to learn that the Northwestern chapter has been re-colonized!
I am an alum of the original Alpha Phi chapter, which closed after my junior year. If the recolonization was published in the fraternity's magazine, I somehow missed it.
Finally!!!! I have been waiting for years.
I graduated from Northwestern in 1970. When I pledged during my freshman year, the chapter was already very small. Fortunately, I have kept in touch with a few of the gals.
At any rate, I just had to say how very, very pleased I am that this has happened. I understand the Evans Scholars still occupy "our" house at 721 University Place and am wondering where the recolonized chapter will reside.
