Most things that are sloppy are good. Molten Lava Cake-- sloppy yet good. Brownie Batter? Very sloppy, yet very good. So the argument that Krispy Kremes aren't good because they are sloppy is not valid.
Krispy Kremes are the bomb. Dunkin Donuts are ok, but no where near KK.

That is my point. KK has compromised their brand so much in areas of the country where it hasn't always been that I don't care if they are amazing hot, I don't want one, because the thought of them just makes me kind of ill. We don't have the 75 or however many years of history that you guys have with them.
If they ever open a place down south called "Primondi's" that sells sandwiches with cole slaw & fries on them and you discover that they suck, you'll know what I mean.

Primanti Bros? Been there, good stuff.
For what it's worth, I've been to some delis in this part of the country that serve sandwiches like that. They are good.......just not really my thing. I'd rather have at least the fries on the side.

While I like KK donuts, I actually prefer the mom and pop type stores. I'd rather keep a small family run business going than a chain....plus, all the KKs around here disappeared.

AOII gets a pass for such a rational vote for "other."
Down with big business and up with mom and pop stores.
(I'll pretend that KK is a mom and pop store when it suits me. )

Hey Kevin, can we get another poll started? This one is boring. Can you start one called Chitlins, Collard Greens and fatback, or other?

Shipley's are the best! Although they may have problems getting their product out now that ICE has busted the plant

You mean other than the Primanti's in Ft. Lauderdale? But yeah, I think we might know what you mean, although your comparison is a bit off the mark. No one is talking about knock-off "Krispy Kreames." We're talking about buying Krispy Kreme somewhere other than a Krispy Kreme store where they are made.
The real comparison would be if they ever start selling Primanti's sandwiches in convenience stores. And if they did, I think you might see our point as well. I'm guessing you'd be telling us that we shouldn't even think of buying Primanti sandwiches at conveniences stores, but that the ones from the "real" stores in Pittsburgh (and Ft. Lauderdale?) can't be beat.

Yes, that is a better analogy. We already say the same thing about the premade Primanti's sandwiches they sell at the baseball and football stadiums. They're good...will do if you're really craving one...but it's not the same as getting a freshly made one. But that's the problem, the only place I CAN get KK anymore is at a grocery store or convenience store.
I think this poll is probably faulty overall due to the KK going in to convenience stores et al and that's something DD didn't do. Chipotle vs. Qdoba would have been a better poll.

I look at it like this..if you get KK from anyplace but a KK..it's not the same thing...

Store bought KKs are not up to par.
But I'll take a store bought KK (that was delivered a day ago) before I eat any of those other store packaged doughnuts. Just put the store bought KK in the oven or something.
I'm still laughing at KK for trying to trick me with a whole wheat doughnut.
