From what I understand, the groups at UC are pretty open-minded. I would recommend that you be open-minded as well. Ruling out a group before recruitment isn't a great idea. Good luck!

Why do you think you wouldn't fit in at Pi Phi? Are they all big supporters of using proper capitalization?

Wow. You DO realize that by saying that or making that judgement based on the scrawlings of an anonymous website (possibly without meeting any of them), that by definition makes you a a judgemental snob?
Honestly - you've never had an awkward moment or a bad hair day?

Do you realize that 1) you are showing you are shallow? You don't want to join a particular sorority based on stereotypes? 2) You are offensive. There are numerous women on this board who are members of Pi Phi and they love their organization. 3) Hurting your own recruitment. Active chapter members read these boards. They know that you are making offensive remarks about a sorority. Panhellenic stands as a group. You are rude and offensive to one, they all know about it. 4) Have not bothered to read the advise given to numerous prospective new members over the years. Universally, the advice says, "KEEP AN OPEN MIND."
I would suggest that you grow up before you entertain the idea of joining a sorority. These are women who are smart, caring, and out to improve the world around them not put others down.

What do you hope to gain from membership in a sorority? If extended a bid, what can you contribute to your organization? Realize that by refusing to consider all groups, you lessen your chances for a successful recruitment.

I apologize, I edited my posts you all were right. I more was trying to express that I was uncomfortable with certain sentiments, NOT that I agreed with them - I actually don't like people talking like that, but I understand that was unclear. It is probably the case that I am not comfortable being associated with any stereotypes, so Greek Life will not be for me, though to my knowledge I did not reveal personal information that would reveal my identity.
But for the record, I apologize for any offense, I was only trying to express that I was trying to get information on the others, I never intended to disparage a particular group, I merely wanted to explain why I was curious about the competitiveness of certain groups.
