My new badge! Features amethysts and pearls, and to my knowledge is the only one like it.

When I ordered my badge they had sent me the wrong one. They had sent me a plain badge and I had ordered a badge with pearls. I guess quality assurance isn't high on their priority list.

WOW!! That is beautiful! Loving the amethysts!
I still haven't gotten my personal badge yet, and we ordered them in October Super unimpressed with HJ right now. It's also very clear that the two older badges I have (1954 and 1967) are of much higher quality than the newer one (1998).

In 2007, we ordered in February and I didn't get it until late April, so I feel ya! HJ is slooooooow

Almost didn't recognize you
HJ was not exactly a pleasure. I already sent it back once because it wasn't what I wanted, and then this time they got the engraving wrong. It has my initials and "HB" instead of EB (my chapter designation). Part of me is contemplating returning it, but a part of me doesn't really mind that much, and it would probably take another 3 months to get it back.
Guess I'm a member of the imaginary Eta Beta chapter of Delta Tau Delta.

When I ordered my HJ replacement badge it was supposed to be silver with amethyst points. What I got was silver scroll border with no points. When I contacted them about this, I got the new, pristine badge in 2 days. The customer service is definitely better than whoever sends out orders to begin with.

Interesting. Did you call or email them? Or did you just send the badge back with the form?
I can't deal with the crookedness. It is way too obvious for me.

That's good to know! Thanks! I just need to find a jeweler close to where I am haha

The one on the right is one that I saved from that site last year. I hadn't been able to take decent pictures until now. I believe it is from the 60s or 70s from the chapter at Monmouth. It is a closed chapter now, but not sure when it closed exactly. It is gold and fully pearled.
I find it interesting that the older pin is slightly smaller than the new pin. The new pin is the "standard" size from HJ and no smaller size is offered. I'm not sure when this size was changed.

I'd send that badge right back and make them fix or replace it. When I got my badge 30+ years ago (not from HJ), the A was off kilter to the O and the II and I tried not to be bothered by it, but with all the money I spent for it I felt it should be perfect, so I ended up sending it back and they did fix it.
I actually like the older KD badge better - it looks crisper and of better quality.

Very annoyed with them.

I've heard complaints of pearls falling out of the HJ AOII badges entirely, HJ quality control seems to be a problem for many.
