Living Islam Out Loud: American Muslim Women Speak, edited by Saleemah Abdul-Ghafur
Its a great read not only for Muslims, but also for those wanting to hear the voices of Muslim women and their perspectives on religion, love and faith.

African American Fraternities and Sororities The Legacy and the Vision -Tamara Brown and Gregory S. Parks and Clarenda M. Phillips. I am halfway through the book it is very historical in nature and gives a good association between GLOs and Afrocentricism, also the information on benevolent societies and the Boule is quite interesting. We have much to consider in terms of this great legacy!

I read that. It is really good to hear from younger Muslim women as well.

I just finished reading Ho-Ho Homicide. It was a murder mystery set in a retirement community. I found it in the office book exchange and I was pleasantly surprised. But glad I didn't pay full price for it.

William July III
Brothers, Lust, and Love by William July III. This makes for interesting read in order to understand why black men are afraid to love and give love in return.

Reads right now
For book club: The Sisters of APF by Zane.
For my amusement: What Would Jackie Do? by Shelly Branch and Sue Callaway. Standard self-help books are just meh for me. But I eat up "refined living" guides and I think Mrs. Onassis was the ne plus ultra of high class. I'm trying to do better in 2006 and remember my refined self.
Ms. Branch, BTW, is a sista. She's on the left in this picture:
