New to Greek Life

Hello all! I have a daughter at FSU who is interested in attending Winterfest. I have found the threads I have read to be very informative. I don't know how it will all work out for her but I really don't want simple and avoidable mistakes to derail what could be a wonderful experience. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. I was reading about the importance of recs. Would she ask friends of hers who are current members or women who are already graduated? If she receives a bid for spring - is that obligation through the end of this school year or for one calendar year? If she receives a bid from a sorority she likes but might not be her first choice - should she go ahead and accept for the experience and then re-rush in the fall or just wait until fall.

She needs the rec before recruitment starts. Yes, she can ask friends who are current members for some groups. Some groups don't allow current collegiate members to write recs. Once she signs the MRABA or bid card it is binding for 1 year from the date she signs. She would be ineligible to go through recruitment in the fall.

Thanks AXOrushadvisor! I thought it was a calendar year, but was hesitant to say. Please join the concurrent discussion under FSU Winterfest. We need your help!
