I was hoping Kimberly would make it...My guess is that if they do an entire wildcard episode with 8 (2 from each group of 8 that didn't make it), that the two from last night will be JD and Kimberly...Let's hope anyways

In my opinion, Kimberly was by far the best of the 3, but apparently the rest of the country doesn't agree... Oh well, I'm sure she'll get the wild card.

Did anyone see the extremely bitchy look that Kimberly gave Julia last night while Julia was singing? I could just see her thinking, "I am sooooo much better than you." I'm glad she didn't make it because I thought she was so rude, catty, and fake the whole time.

Well I'd be angry too if I were her. I mean I really don't think Julia is that good. However, you have a point. She could have been more like Tamyra was when she got voted off last season... Tamyra could have been upset (and rightfully so) but at least she didn't show it.

Is anyone as unimpressed with Idol II as I am? I was really excited for this new season, but I think half of these people are ugly and their song choices suck.

Yeah must say I'm surprised at some of the songs these people choose to sing.
Question to anyone who watched 234 get narrowed to 30, did you base your opinoins on who should have made it according to their behaviors those two days? I was a bit annoyed with some of the people but that's just me

Yeah I thought Julia Demato (or however you spell it) had a horrible attitude during the narrowing down process, but she gave a good performance and that's why she made it.
The songs choices are pretty bad for the most part. I'm sorry, but usually when you sing an upbeat song with just a piano, it turns out sounding kinda cheesy. Some of them would have done better to pick ballads, those go much better with a piano. Not only that, but they usually show vocal range a lot better. Just my opinion

I heart Ruben. I think he totally rules. No one else really impressed me. Sure, Kimberly (I think that's her name...I can't keep them straight) was good, but pick a different frigging song! I was shocked that Simon didn't even say anything about that. They keep saying they want someone that can sing anything, and they keep this person who sings "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" 3 times.
I think Ruben and Kimberly are going to make it, but I also really like the dorky kid that went first. Too bad he didn't sing that well last night.

Adios, Frenchie!
Just read this on a friend's LJ:
'Idol' contestant booted for working for adult Web site
By Gary Levin, USA TODAY
Frenchie Davis, the full-figured brassy-voiced American Idol semifinalist from Washington, D.C., has been eliminated from Fox's talent competition after she acknowledged she worked for an adult Web site four years ago.
Frenchie Davis will be replaced on a show airing Feb. 25.
Fox said she'll be replaced on a show airing Feb. 25. But co-producer 19 Entertainment, which signs Idol winners to recording contracts, says it will "endeavor to do all in its power to help Frenchie further her music career."
Another Idol finalist, Jaered Andrews, was replaced earlier for undisclosed reasons
**Just checked the AI Website...and she's been removed!

So, in order for them to be respected artists, they have to look good? Doesn't matter that the crop this year in terms of singing is a lot better than last year, because they're "ugly", they're inferior?

somewhere over the rainbow isnt gonna get you ALL the way thru the competition, if you make it that far. I was really shocked that she sang that song uh-gain. oh well. her and ruben will end up being in the top. I really liked Clay... the awkward looking kid. He was cute... but if America has it's way, he won't make it.
DAMN... what is with everyone getting caught in the adult film website industry. First Joe M. and now THIS??? I really liked Frenchie. errrrr

i heard that they are still going to help her further her singing career, as they fully acknowledge her outstanding talent..but they feel former porn stars are not really the image of the "american idol"

Whatever she did in the past is her business, and I personally don't have a problem with it. BUT...I can see how the AI people would have a beef with it. Imagine if she did become the AI2 winner...it'll be Miss America Vanessa Williams all over again.
She probably had a feeling her past was going to come out eventually.
Still, she has a strong following--it's evident at www.savefrenchie.com --the site alone is boasting thousands of hits within its 6 hours of existance.
