Find a way to make alumnae understand that you can't just "restart the chapter" the way fraternities can. In other words, expansion 101 (the other chapters have to be at total, etc). My alma mater has had several fraternities return and if I have to explain to my sisters one more time that sororities don't work that way, that the process is much more involved, I am going to tear my hair out and eat it.
This is important because there might be an alumna who says "well I'm not going to help the chapter at Lohan U because they have yet to reopen my chapter at Hilton State." Never mind that Hilton State hasn't added any sororities since 1960 and is having trouble keeping the 3 that are there at a total of 30. Things are much less loosey-goosey than they used to be where expansion is concerned, mainly because of expense. Lots of alumnae just don't get that.
