Loss of NC-Beta member

I'm not sure if there are any ECU Phi Kappa Psi's on GC, so I figured I'd post this for them.

This chapter could really use any/all support right now as they have suffered the loss of their former president.

Issac Ashton Rhodes

June 23,2006

KINSTON, N.C. - Issac Ashton Rhodes, 21, of 4002 N.C. 55 W., died Wednesday, June 22, 2006. He was an Eagle Scout and past president of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity of East Carolina University. He was dedicated to the Lord at Holy Innocents Episcopal Church and was a decorated Fire Fighter with Sandy Bottom Vol. Fire Dept. Survivors include his parents, Jo Frances Whitfield Rhodes and Shelton Rhodes Jr., both of Kinston; brother Vernon Ray Sowers and wife Melissa of Greenville; maternal grandfather Hubert Whitfield of Kinston; paternal grandfather Shelton Rhodes Sr. of Goldsboro; and niece Skylar Sowers of Greenville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, in the chapel of Howard-Carter Funeral Home with the Rev. Norman Ard officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home and other times at the home of Hubert Whitfield, 3967 N.C. 55 W., Kinston. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Sandy Bottom Vol. Fire Dept., 2178 Greene Haynes Road, Kinston, NC 28504 or to one's favorite charity.

On behalf of the brothers of the Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Beta Theta Pi, I offer his family, friends, and brothers our thoughts and prayers. He was an awesome guy and he will be sorely missed.

Thanks for the news

Information about his death also has been sent out to a couple of Phi Psi Yahoo Groups and to our headquarters in Indianapolis. Thanks for the additional information you provided and for the consideration you showed for the Chapter.
