Question Dating Shorter Men

Would you date a man that was at least 2 inches shorter than you? A friend asked me this question and I thought it was silly at first...But after thinking about it for a minute, I realized height is a requirement for me. A small requirement, but one none the less. What are your thoughtz ladiez?

NO!!! Sorry, call me shallow, superficial, whatever. I just can't stand short men to begin with and if he is shorter than me, he is REALLY short. My lil asian butt is only 5'2"!! But I won't even date a guy that's like, 5'5". My current significant other is 6'2" (and fine!). He has to be at least, maybe, 5' 9" at the shortest.

No way. I've done it and being bigger did nothing for my sense of self-esteem. I am 5'9 and I like to wear heels! 6'2" is a requirement.

That said, two dear friends who are both 5'8" and 5'10" respectively are engaged to wonderful men who are no more than 5'6".

It just wouldn't be for me.

Amy

I don't think I've ever met a man shorter than me! I'm 5'2! So I don't know if I would or not but I'm usually attracted to tall men anyway.

No way! I'm 5'4" and when I wear my 4" heels, I still want to look up to my man. He needs to be at least 5'10".

I have dated guys shorter than me before...I am 5'8", so those guys were pretty short!!! My preference, however, is taller men...I like to look up at them...makes me feel less self-conscious. (My current boyfriend and future husband is 6'5", thank goodness!!!!)

No way, Jose! I'm 4'11". My hunny is 5'11". I've never dated anyone remotely close to my height. I've never dated anyone really tall either. I don't think I would either. My feet would hurt 'cuz I would have to break out the heels.

Okay, I'm only 5'1" and a boyfriend I had in highschool was like 5'3' so whenever I wore heels of even thick-soled gymshoes I was taller than him. I didn't really have a problem with it back then but he did. He had a serious "Napolean Complex" So now I stick to taller guys.

I don't have a problem with it. I used to be picky and the man had to be over 6 feet to get my attention period. However, at this point in my life it makes no difference how tall he is. I have dated men who were 6ft 5 and one was 6ft 7. My current boyfriend is 2 inches shorter than I am without my heels and I am so in love!! Yeah, we look funny together when I wear my heels but I LOVE THIS MAN!!

Thumbs up

Although I would prefer to date a man 6'3 or taller, I have no height preference. I have dated men who were 5'6 in the past...with no issues...

...and I am 5'9 w/o the 3 inch heels I normally wear...

so it doesn't matter to me...what does matter is what the person's personality is like and what kind of person they are...

i have dated one man shorter than me and at first i was a tad bit uncomfortable about the height factor. but then i got over it.

now my affections have turned to a guy who is about a few inches taller than me with my shoes off and the same height when i wear heels. but that does not bother me because he more than makes up for it in other ways.

Yes, dating a man shorter than me would be an issue, because I'm so short myself (I'm 5'1). "Your parents must be Lil' Kim and Too Short" is the joke that people use to tease me with all the time, so I need a man to be at least 5'7.

But there is a limit on height for me when it comes to him being too tall-my tallest boyfriend was 6'5 and since then, the tallest that I've dated is about 6'1.

YES! Ooh, this is so annoying! I had a boyfriend once who was maybe an inch shorter than I am.. and everytime we went out it was such a pain to have to wear shoes I normally wouldn't because he was so insecure about looking a lot shorter than me!

I usually prefer men who are taller than me. I have never dated men who are shorter than me, because I think I would feel to insecure when I'm with him. I prefer my man to at least be taller than me when I have on high heels (which is not hard because I'm only 5'2)
