I hate it when people steal stuff from other orgs. My chapter at Columbia actually has a owl over the front door. So many people tried to steal it, they ended up bolting it down and cementing it.

I'm fairly certain that they return that stuff.

I mean, whenever a fraternity took something from a sorority house, it always somehow came back.

Somebody stole a boulder that was in front of my old house and it disappeared off the face of the earth.

It got so out of control on my campus that it isn't done anymore (I am all for the officer of AB sorority to make arrangement with an officer of XY fraternity to take all their spoons and then they come over to serenade for their return and everyone has ice cream sundaes or whatever; I am against the stealing of expensive or important items or behaving to vandalize or disrupt the functioning of another group) and if it happens the police are called and charges can/will be brought against the offenders.

That's how it generally works here. They take it, they laugh. We say "ha ha." We get it back, the end.

See that's fun, and probably traditional. But stuff like letters or something else that is identified with a certain org is something completely different. one of our sororities XYZ(national) has the pledges carry pompoms with them. One of the fraternities always tries to steal them and dips them in paint the fraternity's color. That started as fun, but I find it disrespectful, because all the Greeks on campus associate the pompoms with that one sorority.

I agree to a point. But they are young and silly. As long as the stuff comes back, I think it's all in fun. And timeless.

Plus, come on people. That is a frickin' anchor up there. You gotta give props for that.

At minimum. Possibly a crane as well.

Most likely Delta Gamma. It's tradition that their housed chapters have an actual anchor somewhere on the property.

Ah ok. My school doesn't have a DG and the sororities don't really have houses. I know the anchor as a an AST symbol and only learned about DG using it from GC.
