WOW, got a surprise email saying I was runner up recipe contest at local grocery chain in K C!

Won a Master Chef knife set and knife block for my meat loaf recipe.

Blew me away and cannot wait to pick it up and see if the knives are of really good quality.

Today, mushroom and cheese burger.

Butter crackers and bacon horse radish dip.

Hahaha

Crock pot chicken and sausage stew...I made it for the first time last week and my son said it was one of the best things I've ever made. I can't believe it, because it has several vegetable ingredients he's normally picky about. So, here we go again!

I put a beef roast in the crock pot with carrots, small red-skinned potatoes and quartered onions. I browned it in a tiny bit of olive oil after coating it with herbs, sea salt and coarse pepper. Will taste good on this freezing Midwest evening!
After seeing it cook down, I hope there's enough for us to enjoy for at least ONE more day!

Sampling at the grocery stores...

Cooked sushi at one grocery store. The story was pretty dead so I went back for seconds and thirds.

Scone samplings at the starbucks counter.

Pretzels and cheese dip at another counter.

Can't believe how full I got. So much for actually making dinner tonight.
