Transfer question

Thetas--

Pardon me for crashing, but I had a question that it won't do any good to post anywhere else. I am an alum of another NPC sorority, but my daughter is a Theta (and absolutely loves it, I might add! ) Unfortunately, she will have to transfer universities after only two years to complete her intended major.

I was encouraging her to consider affiliation with the Theta chapter at the new university, but she is very hesitant. She is under the impression that the receiving chapter "rushes" you, in a sense, and can reject your application for transfer even if you have excellent grades and are in good standing with your first chapter.

I searched the general forums here at GC and that did seem to be the concensus among NPC goups. I was curious what Theta's policies were regarding active transfers. Does it depend on the specific chapter?

If this is an inappropriate question for a nonTheta or on a public board, pardon the intrusion. I also don't mean to be "helicoptoring." My daughter is very mature and very capable of handling whatever she needs to should she decide to pursue this. I just hate to see her greek experience truncated because of a college transfer. Thanks for your consideration.

I would suggest she might be best off contacting the new chapter if she hasn't already. She should also read the bylaws and if she has additional questions, perhaps contact headquarters.

You're daughter should have received a copy of the bylaws after initiation. If she has not, they are available online in the passworded section of the website.

Theta's policy for affiliates is the same across all chapters. The details are on the affiliation form and also outlined in fraternity bylaws on the password protected section of the website.

You may want to see the other thread on affiliation as well for additional thoughts..
