Audio books I've listened to so far this school year on my commute:
The Aviator's Wife
The Radium Girls
Ines of My Soul
Defying the Nazis: The Sharp's War
All excellent!

Did anyone here read The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks? I read it a few years ago, and would like to see the movie (if I haven't missed it!).

Yes, I read it...very interesting. The science and the impact on informed consent and human subjects research laws were fascinating to me.
I was disappointed with the movie adaptation. The movie totally focuses on Henrietta's daughter, played by Oprah Winfrey. Who is the producer.
It's like in Shakespeare in Love, when the usual leading man Ben Affleck character is told by Shakespeare that Mercutio (his role) is the star of the show, and he gradually figures out as each act/scene is written and rehearsed, that his role is definitely a supporting role.
It's like that. Except Oprah or the screenwriter never figured out that her role was a supporting role in the book, and not the primary focus or take-away from this true story. So, the whole thing feels like 1) an overacted Emmy pitch, and 2) not true to the book's message.
if you see it, I'd like to hear your opinion!

Is there a way to see an HBO movie when you don't get HBO? I really do want to see it. It's a darn shame that the very woman who changed the landscape of modern medicine doesn't get any glory - nor does her family reap any rewards!

I think I read somewhere that you can use the HBO Go app and watch.

I thought you had to be an HBO subscriber to use/get the HBO Go app. But, I could be wrong.
I'm sure it will come out in some type of accessible format eventually.

We're discussing getting a Firestick, or a similar device. Would that help?

My husband says no -- HBO content is only available through an HBO subscription. We have a Roku, Netflix, and Hulu, but we can only access HBO programming through HBO.
Speaking of HBO, what I'm reading right now is the first Game of Thrones book. I'm planning to read the full series while waiting for the final season to come out next year.

Looks like it so far. Lot of intrigue so far in just 3 chapters.

Just wait until the "lots of intrigue" shifts to "lots of intimacy!" lol You may become a convert to romance novels!
