Lightbulb Please, I need your HELP!

Hello Sisters of My Sister:

I'm so pleased to be here and extremely appreciative to anyone who can assist me. My Little Sister is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho and is graduating this May from a HBCU. I have searched tirelessly for the perfect gift, but to no avail.

I have come up with few ideas, but the one that stands out to me is a basket that is filled with Sigma Gamma Rho items. Possibly a collection of items including gear and accesories.

I myself have never pledged to any organization so I am unaware of any tradition or customs, besides the kente(sp?) cloths to wear at graduation. My Parents beat me to that one.

If anybody can give me any fabulous ideas, I promise all will be considered. Please do not hold back on the creativity, because I am also looking for the "WOW" factor.

Sincerely,
Sister of Your Sister

I would suggest posting this in the Sigma Gamma Rho forum rather than locals.

Thank You for the suggestion SWTXBelle. However, I am not looking for a suggestion from a particular organizational affiliation only. I have a Cousin who pledged Delta and is graduating next May. ( For once, I am actually being proactive)

What did you Family present to you for your graduation? ( If the question is personal, I'm sorry for prying. Please feel free not to answer if that is the case)

Thanks again.

Then post the question in the Sigma Gamma Rho forum and in the Delta Sigma Theta forum.

Hello,

Questions to consider regarding both women:
What do they already have?
Do you know if they want a particular item?
Have you considered mascot jewelry? (i.e. Poodles for SGRhos, Elephants for Deltas's etc..)
Have you thought about a gift certificate/card to the local greek shop or online shop?
Have you asked relatives or their chapter soarers if they were interested in something?

It doesn't hurt to be creative (but thoughtful) when thinking of gifts.

And you posted this in a forum that doesn't get a lot of traffic. That's why Belle suggested you post this elsewhere.

My opinion: jewellery or a nice watch. Get the back of the watch engraved with her letters and initiation date.
