there are also several co-ed orgs. on my campus... but what's interesting is that although we have all of these GLO's none of them have HUGE numbers of people in them... I think the Pi Kapps are the biggest of any group soror or frat.... and they have I think maybe 70, and the Phi tau's aren't too far behind. I think the most of the other grops on campus have about 20 or so active members in them, if that in some of the locals. Interesting that I think we're one of the few school's I know of where the local orgs out number the national orgs, although the only greek organization that is recognized by the university is the fraternity sorority council.. which is the fraternity/sorority council which is the group which is like NPC or NIC for ALL GLOs on campus local and national... other than that no recognition for individual groups.

word is back in the day UMASS used to have alot more orginizations.. we definitely had a PLF and also a TKE.. the reason we are not recognized is that the PLF fraternity killed a student during "hell week"..

I believe that there are a few people trying to colonize a chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, too, but don't quote me on that. Some people were trying to recolonize the Alpha chapter of Alpha Phi Omega during my junior and senior years, but that fell through. While I was in college, Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Theta Delta Chi were both kicked out, and Sigma Nu and Sigma Chi were kicked out 1-2 years earlier. That's 4 chapters in about 6 years! Lafayette is becoming very anti-greek.
