"It Follows" was ok, I guess. It wasn't bad or good. It was like, meh.

I just got back from seeing this new film, and I found it to be a refreshing take on the horror genre but filled with allegory and metaphor and I could definitely see the influence of John Carpenter's early works in this film. The director, David Robert Mitchell, has stated that Carpenter and Romero have a great deal of influence in his filmmaking and Mitchell, like Carpenter, knows how to use the widescreen (aspect ratio 2.35 to 1) frame to his advantage. The acting was very well done and the editing and music were tight.

I give it a 8/10

Fast and the Furious 7 was awesome. I think it was the best one by far.

So far, we've seen 3; next was 12; soon it will be 500+.

With it arriving in theaters and VOD on May 22nd, THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE 3: FINAL SEQUENCE has the advance buzz and the tagline, "100% Politically Incorrect".

With the first film being extremely nauseating and the second making me vomit (for real, I threw up during that second one and I was so glad it was in black & white, with the exception of one color), I have to finish this trilogy with this third film.

Never has a film made me physically ill before. Let alone 3 of them.

I saw the first 2 On Demand but this one will be opening in Atlanta on May 29th. If I go see this one on the big screen, I hope the theater it plays at hands out free barf bags. They might be needed.

ETA: The trailer for this film was posted today on YouTube. I won't post the link there but the trailer is quite graphic.

Even with the hype of The Avengers: Age of Ultron taking over the cinemas right now, a British indy film is living up to its own hype: "Ex Machina". A smart, philosophical and chilling film, with one of the best scripts of the year and incredible visual effects.

10/10.
