Post question about pledging

I have heard that black sororities don't have a rush process. At my school the AKA's had a formal Rush. What is the difference between their intake process and white sororities intake proces?? And why is it called a rush, if that is not what it really is?

It is a rush, but it's only for that one night and is not a week long process of visiting houses and getting bids. To most BGLO's, unless you are ineligible at the time, when you attend the rush you are saying that you want to become a part of that organization. As for the intake process, each BGLO's is different with in ourselves, so you will find out about the intake process at the rush and even more about it once you become a candidate for membership into that particular sorority.
