Not terribly new. I got my opal & sapphire pin from there - and at a ridiculously low price, too!

Personally, I'm not going to "rescue" any typical Chi Omega badge that has pearls or diamonds. I search only for the rare, the unusual, the significant or the precious. That's just my opinion. Also, I don't feel that all collectors are "crazy." Again, that's just me.

I will have some pictures of items from Holt House! The chapter I advise (and was initiated into at Holt House in 2007) had their initiation there this weekend. I just need to get them cropped.

I apologize for the terrible quality of most of the photos. Forgot my camera and just had my phone. I also apologize for awkwardly being in reflections in many of the photos.

AGGGGHHH Flickr why don't you work?

I'm jumping up and down in anticipation! Go to photobucket. Flickr doesn't work for GC.

I was doing my usual search of that evil auction site to look at badges that I wish I had the resources to rescue and came across an Alpha Phi badge from Syracuse University in 1880!
It is gorgeous.
I REALLY hope it is saved by an Alpha Phi!
I have no idea how to link pictures, but hopefully someone else can link the pics!
My oh MY!!!! They are fighting for this one!! Looks like an amazing historical Alpha Phi badge... bidding over $2600 with 4 days to go already

They're not insanely big...I have my window maximized and I don't need to scroll over or anything.

I'm not sure I'd bid $2600 for anything in my fraternity's history, anything that I'd put at *that* level, I'd get the National Office to go for. (And if not, there are other Alpha Phi Omega alumni in better fiscal shape than I.)

Those are absolutely marvelous! I do a history program for kids, and I'm always looking for hatpins for it. I keep hoping that I find a sorority one! If one ends up missing, I have it! LOL

The picture of the Pi Phi pins in the pincushion are great. Because the picture is large, you can see much of the detail.

So the auction is now at $463? Not that this is a bad thing for Alpha Phis or Alpha Phi HQ, but what's up with that?

I saw that earlier. Someone probably withdrew their bid.

Thank you, bevinpiphi, for sharing! Those are amazing photos that you took. I especially like the cufflinks and the long bar pin.

When you were at Holt House, were there any I.C.Sororis items on display? I know that your HQ is in MO and Holt House is in Monmouth IL. Just curious as to where your archives are located.

Yes, that is what happened:

Bidder Action / Explanation
Member Id: n***n( 269) Retracted: US $3,000.00
Explanation: Entered wrong amount

Interesting thing is that this error also showed that one of the other bidders has bid a huge amount...
