If you are showing your age, then I am, too. I just cannot stand rompers on a adult. They always seem too short through the crotch and booty and bum hanging out. All I can think is "She's going to get an infection from that."

Even the name sounds toddler-ish. Anyone else remember the TV show “Romper Room?”

I've seen rompers that look OK. But I think a lot of young women wear ones that are way too small HOPING they'll show off the goodies.

As every girl knows, though, the biggest problem with rompers comes when you have to use the bathroom...

I think I rocked red overhauls during round 1 or 2 in 1986, since with deferred rush it was too cold for rompers.

I will say - I do think this fashion has come back in a major way. My college freshman likes the jumpsuits that remind me of the 70s. And my high school junior rocks rompers. Heck, with the exception of the Doc Marten sandals - her first day of school outfit (with a purple leopard print top and large plastic white "chain link" earrings, looked like something I would have worn in high school.

This is why I hated those and sunsuits as a child, and why I would not have worn them as a college woman.

At least now the rompers *might* look like short dressy dresses. Anyone else remember the Laura Ashley rompers of the mid-1980s? Those really did look like toddler rompers.

Do you mean these numbers? In Summer/Fall 1990 into 1991, in Georgia, these were all the rage:

Second picture down, the dress on the right: I swear that's what my date wore to the ZTA pledge dance.

That's actually Sigma Kappa. Lived up the front stairs, down the hall.

Back when the rompers from The Limited with a pair of Sam & Libbys were the rage.

And I had a Lanz of Salzburg for round three. Floral. Big collar. Pearl buttons. PANTYHOSE.
