Engagements!!
I noticed that there was no thread to talk about engagements, congratulate sisters, all that goes along with the excitement of a sister getting engaged, so I wanted to start one!
TWO of the fabulous ladies of the Theta Zeta chapter at ERAU, Prescott, recently got engaged!!! One of them is my Big Sis, so I'm super excited! Even though I know I'll be fielding 2AM phone calls whenever she's stressed about linens/her dress/colors/flowers/anything, I'm so glad to be involved. Her man is AWESOME and I'm so happy for them! And of course, I'm extremely happy for my other newly-engaged Theta Zeta sister! Big congrats to these two!
So post about fabulous ladies from your chapter getting engaged (or married, if you want!!) because I know we'd all love to share in their joy and send some Xi love their way!

I just got engaged.....well, on May 1st. It was the last day of our vacation. He planned it three years, threes month, three weeks, and three days from our first date. It was a surprise....I really didn't think it would ever happen, but it did! So now wedding planning with a hiatus for "AXiD August" (July 30-Sept 2nd).
Being an involved alum and an advisor for all these years, I have lots of sisters invited or in my wedding. My bridesmaids include my AXiD and biological sister Rachael and the other Rachel one of my best friends who I initiated with and has advised with me for these many years (my borrowed is her veil and wedding jewelry!). Bev, who has advised with me for now 7 years, will play her harp during the ceremony (you can read about her in the last Quill). My cake will be made by another fantastic sister who I became close to when she pledged 11 years ago. When I made my invitation list, many of my non-family guests are sisters.
My, how the sorority has impacted my life...13 (ahem) years later.

Hey Ladies:
Tell me do any of you chapters have a tradition in letting others know about the engagement. I know ours does with the candle passing but I'm not sure on who makes/ decorates the candle for those who get engaged. Anyone know?

I wish I knew, but my chapter doesn't do anything special to announce engagements

In my chapter, it was our big or lil, whoever, you wanted to have do it for you. Most of the time it was the lil, because the bigs may have already graduated by the time the engagement happened.
