Sleep Walking, anyone?
How common is this? Has anyone here been told they do it? And how do you stop it?
I've recently been informed that I sleep walk. And whats worse is that I get up and eat. And until recently I had no idea. Now that I think about it I did used to wonder wtf an empty bowl and spoon were doing in the sink in the morning times but until recently I never really thought about it. My girlfriend says that I get up sometime between 3-5am and eat cereal, mainly Crunch Berries or Cinnamon Toast Crunch. What really makes me wonder is wtf I eat when I'm out of cereal. That would really suck if I was eating cookies and drinking milk at 4:00am.
So, any advice?

I did it when I was a little kid I used to sleepwalk. A couple of times I almost made it out the front door, and it happened quite frequently. We lived in a quiet suburb and my parents were light sleepers, so luckily they were able to catch me before I made it out the door or did any damage to myself.
I never took medication for it, and it stopped probably about 10 years ago.

Mike Birbiglia, comedian, has a really bad case of sleep walking. He has to sleep in a sleeping bag, with mittens on, so he can't get out of the sleeping bag and walk. One time he jumped out a 2nd story window at a hotel, as he dreamt his room was going to be hit by a missle. His case is more than likely pretty extreme.

Knowing the comedian's way of living, you're probably right on!

I used to sleepwalk all the time as a kid. I'd walk around the house and turn lights on, and then go back to bed. I pretty much grew out of it, but occacsionally if I'm in a really deep sleep I'll sleepwalk.

My cousin and I used to sleepwalk when we were younger. I grew out of it and he stopped when he ended up on the front porch in the cold.
