All Greek Alumni Events

Has your city or town held an all-Greek alum event? What did you guys do? Do you think it is silly to hold a co-ed event after graduation?

Thumbs up

Think it is a great idea, but trying to get Alums from different Greek Orgs would be very tough.

It is tough enough trying to get G C gatherings in an area!

At the school I went to we have a Greek Alumni Society. So there are meetings and events every few months. It is a blast to see all of the people that were in other chapters (as well as your own) back in the day...and with you!! There is a golf outing coming up soon for Order of Omega initiates!!

I agree, I've been trying to do this in NYC and it's been hard. There is actually another All-Greek group in NYC that I recently learned about that has been having more success and I am planning to go to one of their events, they are having Happy Hour on the roof-top of the Met later this month. I think it's hard to get ANYONE together in general after college but with dedication and a core group of people working towards the same goal, it is possible. I've seen my AA come along way over the past year but it is hard because everyone's schedule is so different, and everyone has other committments as well in their life. It is definately not like undergrad where you "have" to go to things. Plus I think that a lot of people also "feel silly" about "hanging out" with "Greeks" post-undergrad if you know what I am saying. Good luck though and I am sure your hard work will pay off in the end, getting in touch with other Greeks is a great way to make friends

With our alum panhel, we are able to get a good number of people out. I'd like to arrange something with the guys' associations too. However, I don't know if there is a men's fraternity alumni association in the area, other than the individual fraternity alum groups.

Speaking of GAS, are you going to the meeting coming up?? I'll probably be going since it'll be my first one since graduation. I didn't know about the OO golf outing.
