BUMP and Update
Well, we're in the middle of fraternity rush week at SIUE, and things seem to be going fairly well.
Each chapter has a list of "interested" guys, but there is usually a pretty big discrepancy between the number of names on that list and the number of guys showing up for events. I've stopped by a few of the events just to see how things have been going, and here is an update.
Sig Pi - about 10-15 attending the last two nights
Phi Kappa Psi - 18 the first night, 20 last night
AKL- 14 attended last night
Sig Ep- about 6 or seven both nights.
Seems like an average year really, maybe slightly up.

Just finished rush. Great turnout by rushees; the fraternity system is very good here and overall rush was very successful.
Early results:
Pikes 50
Sigma Phi Epsilon 50+
Phi Delta Theta 53
Sigma Chi 37
Lambda Chi Alpha 38
Alpha Tau Omega 50+
Delta Tau Delta 50
Haven't yet heard about:
Sigma Nu
Phi Kappa Tau
Pi Kappa Phi
Alpha Epsilon Pi
Phi Kappa Psi
Tau Epsilon Phi
Kappa Sigma
Kappa Alpha Order
Tau Kappa Epsilon
Chi Phi
Pi Lambda Phi
Phi Sigma Kappa
FIJI
Sigma Alpha Epsilon (sub rosa - aka The Lions Club)
It is assumed that everyone did well. I haven't heard about anyone doing poorly.

congrats to all you guys. The fraternity system is poor here so we are aiming at getting 10-15 guys.

We have 14 candidates(10 pinned and 4 who have accepted bids) so far and there are still two more days of recruitment, we have at least another ten who have verbally committed, but haven't yet been bidded. Not too bad for an active chapter of 22.

Well, Friday was Bid Day at SIUE. The results are:
Alpha Kappa Lambda 13
Phi Kappa Psi 13
Sigma Phi Epsilon 12
Sigma Pi 20
The chapters were a bit more selective this year, and seemed to take really good guys! In the past, some of our groups have given out bids to just about anyone, only to wind up with only half of their pledges still in school Spring semester!
