Last year Alpha Gamma Rho had a 43 year old pledge. He came back to school after a career in the military.

I think we're limited to 26 years and younger for undergrads.

I personally think that is great and wished more fraternities and sororities realized what they may be missing out on by only gone for the late teens and early 20 somethings.
the national trend for universities now is that more are becoming commuter campuses and the average age is rising. My campus' average age is 28/29 As more "old" folks go back to school more may think about what they missed when they were younger and want to try joining a fraternity or sorority now.
I just have to say thank goodness Phi Sigma Sigma realizes the contribution that older women and graduate students can make to their chapter. I was initiated into Phi Sigma Sigma as an active sister at 32 and a grad student. It has been one of the best experiences of my college life - undergrad or grad.
Good luck to Langille and Kudos to the brother of Alpha Sigma Phi

In that story, the guy was an Alpha Sigma Phi pledge, but had to leave school, but it says that "Missing initiation at Indiana University bothered Langille for years"...
I really commend him on seeing it through to the end.

Wow! That is so cool. Makes me feel young - I'm just now pledging and I'm 25.

That is a really sweet story; I am glad the guys were so accepting and willing to let him finish what he started.

Now THAT'S what brotherhood/sisterhood for life means!!!!!
How honorable it is that he wanted to come back and complete this process!
This story really made me smile.

We had a woman go through recruitment that was 45, lived an hour away and had a husband and kids. She didn't want sisterhood and didn't want to go to socials, meetings, philanthropies, etc... she just wanted somewhere to hang out during breaks between her classes each day.
Things like that made me skeptical of older PNMs, however, I have learned here at GC that not all people are like that woman and this story is so adorable!

Good from him, that is very admeriable for him to go back and see this through to the end. More power to him. And congrats to the memeber of Alpha Sigma Phi, for being so open minded.

Very Cool!
What a nice story! I once knew of another man about the same age that was pledging a Latino fraternity in CA. I don't know if he ever became a brother, though.
