Sorry, my bad... Yes, Sonoma State. If you go to www.alphaxidelta.org and click on the link to The Quill, you can find it on page 8. Trying again on the link. Unfortunately with those magazine links, you can't copy and paste pieces.

Oh yeah, it's not AOIIs, it's a big AOII logo with Alpha Xi's wearing Team AOII shirts. We sure appreciate all the help we get from the Panhellenic communities where AOII has colonized. AXiD has been such a welcoming group at CSU- San Marcos!

The Chi Phi chapter at Princeton -- whose closure was announced earlier this year -- was in fact closed by Chi Phi's HQ. Several reasons led to the decision, among them the chapter's financial situation, according to the student paper:

I'm excited to hear this! I got a chance to visit VCU yesterday for the Obama campaign rally, and it was my first visit to Richmond. It seemed like a beautiful city and a great campus (with A LOT of pride for their basketball coach!)

Per the UW Panhellenic FB page:

We are excited to invite Alpha Omicron Pi to begin their colonization period during Winter 2013! Phi Mu may also join the community between 2014-2016!

Congrats to both groups! All the presentations were great and I'm excited for both AOPi and Phi Mu. Though I'm not sure exactly how to interpret the announcement about Phi Mu - it sounds to me like they MAY join the community between 2014-2016 (as in, if the numbers are there). I hope the UW Greek system continues to grow grow grow!

Carnegie Mellon University held their Greek Banquet last night. At the banquet it was announced that Alpha Phi was invited to colonize. Best wishes for the new colony.

How exciting! Great job sisters! I also read that we are making an in person presentation at Harvard this fall, good luck! I do not know who else is presenting.

This may sound like an odd question, but why do some groups have 3+ colonizations per year, while other groups seem to have none? Is it because some groups are not looking to expand?

victoriana it is for a variety of reasons. Partially depends on if the group is chosen, depends on how large the extensions are and how much resources they may take, or also what they might be looking for in the future.

Also when the bulletin comes out for NPC, there may or may not be campuses of interest for a particular group either. LOTS of different variables that play into why a group is extending, or how much.

How exciting!! That makes 3 colonies for the upcoming school year. SUNY Geneseo, Southern Indiana, and Gustavus Adolphus. I know we presented at other schools. Do you know of any other colonizations for us next year?

I didn't realize AGD was colonizing at both locations. Interesting.
