Seriously?
I thought we were over this kind of snobbery here. But to answer your question, not everyone has the money for an NPC, nor does everyone want to live in a sorority house. Some people do not want to go through formal rush. There is sisterhood outside of an NPC.
If their strategy is a good one, it’ll succeed. If not, it’ll fail. Live and let live. I doubt that the KBG chapter at Alabama will send the established Greek system crashing to its knees.

Also on many campuses, there are more fraternities than sororities. I am sure the social aspect of KBG would appeal to many young ladies without having the obligation of NPC recruitment. In fact, I am a little surprised KBG has not targeted my alma mater for expansion.

It's not snobbery. For several years, I've heard stories about how girls who don't want to follow certain campus or other rules pledge them. I can't imagine how anyone wants to spend their campus years like that. Education first, right?

I can also imagine that the general uninformed PNM who has no family or local connections to greek life probably doesn't know a NPC group from a non-npc group or what that even means.....

Seems to be the case at Walk Forest; the KBG chapter there established by the closed former members of Pi Beta Phi-

I know. I heard about them and I heard about others as well. Let me clarify: I think of them like I do those locals that spring up after a group is rightfully kicked off of campus--composed of the members who were in the former group. A lot try to retain the symbols, colors, etc., of the former group. KBG ripped in there like lightning at Wake and snapped up those former Pi Phis. Vultures, maybe?

I’m guessing those are the PNMs who don’t get bids at big Greek schools in the first place.

Do you have proof that they’re using Pi Phi symbols or ritual?
And considering you obviously no longer think of any of the women who were in this chapter as sisters (whether they were terminated by the national org or not), why do you care what they do? Furthermore, this happened 8 years ago. I doubt that this organization would still be around if their only purpose in life was to avenge the wronged Pi Phi chapter.
I love how this is so awful and terrible and wrong, but it was okey dokey fine when the opposite occurred (i.e. an NPC group “ripped in” and affiliated a group of former KBG members). Goose, gander, yadda yadda.

I've seen photos online.
And my whole point is that I would not care to be a member of any group that came in or was created after a national folded and scooped up the members and then proceeded to do crappy stuff while wearing both the new and the old letters. I know of some of these groups (men and women both) that actually tell PNMs that they are "really ABC but we have to go under this other name now".

Wasn't there a thread years back where KBG took over a disbanded sorority membership (maybe KKG) ...maybe at Loyola Chicago? Or vice versa? As I remember it, quite the bru ha ha.

KKG took over LUC's KBG Chapter. My mom is an alum of that particular chapter.

Seriously, if there were photos of people in my letters who weren’t sisters, I’d be splashing them all over this and every other Greek website to bust them. I don’t get the reticence.
