I AM SO EXCITED TO GO THROUGH RECRUITMENT! My mom is starting to get sick of all my chatter-I'm all sorority this and rec that and so on and so forth She actually called me an overachiever for trying to get my twelfth rec out of twelve, but if that makes me an overachiever then I'd rather overachieve than underachieve.

My daughter is so excited about her first recruitment on the other side. She's also started getting stuff for her future little. That's going to be one spoiled little!

I think Oklahoma State starts first, on August 4th.
Hope someone will post an OK State story. For any of you lurking who are going through rush in Stillwater, the chapters are all great, the houses beautiful, the atmosphere friendly. You cannot go wrong there.

Katmandu, I have written 6 recs so far for OSU - can't wait to see where they end up! 2 of them are girls I know very well. One is a legacy and one is not.
And, for the second year in a row, I encountered a PNM who only wants top tier. Her email to the Alumnae Panhellenic stated that she was requesting help securing recs to the "Top 5" chapters at OU. Good luck with that, sweetie.

I cannot believe that it's time for this already. Auburn kicks off in like 4 weeks exactly. I've always considered that to be the official start for recruitment season.

I was thinking recruitment started early for The University of Alabama because I read somewhere that my recs needed to be in for July 15th. I made sure to send them all out. Irishpipes, I can do one even better than that for this year's recruitment. I had a PNM actually tell me the only sororities she wanted (including mine) as she shared she did not want to go through and pledge XYZ because, "Those girls don't take pride in their sorority. They don't do anything." I was floored that a sophmore at a competitive SEC school with a "decent" GPA but, from out-of-state would say such a thing.

Auburn pushed back this year, so lots of schools start before them.
Valdosta State 8/5
Oklahoma State 8/5
Auburn - Montgomery 8/6
Troy 8/6
Georgia 8/7
Oklahoma 8/8
Alabama 8/9
Delta State 8/10
New Mexico 8/10
Washington State 8/10
Central Florida 8/11
Missouri 8/11
Texas Christian 8/11
Auburn 8/12
Georgia College & State 8/12
Georgia Southern 8/12
Mississippi State 8/12
East Central (OK) 8/12
There may be others.

As much as it cuts into your summer, it must be AWESOME for recruitment to be OVER by the time school starts.
They'll never know what it's like to be up late for Bid Night then go to class on Monday. Or bringing homework to recruitment prep events to work on during breaks.

Be sure and tell us where they end up! Lol @ the girl only wanting the "top 5" at OU. Take a look at those houses, sweetie, and consider yourself lucky to get a bid to any of them. Lots of pride there and a very competitive system.
The artist rendering of the future AOPi house at OK State as seen in the Recruitment Book is a little bit of awesome.
