WOW! I didn't even borrow that much. I went to a state school. My sister goes to private school and borrows more money in one year than I did in four.

I went to a commuter college and my loan was for only TWO semesters!!

Unfortunately my husband has a greater debt than I do He went to a private university which cost about FOUR times as much as mine did for ONE semester!!

Oh my. I guess I'm lucky. I never realized that you could borrow that much money for college.

I've got about $7,500 left to go.

My parents paid the in-state tuition for me for my B.A. Then, my brilliant self decided I needed to do a technical school program. This time I was on my own... So I've been introduced to the wonderfull world of loans. That's okay though. There's lots of us in the same boat.

I owe about $18,000 so far (this is my senior year), but I am going to teach in a critical needs area when I graduate so I don't have to pay them back. If anyone is even remotely interested in teaching, that is a wonderful option so you can start out almost debt free.

Beginning balance was about $45K. Which I don't consider too bad, when all totalled, my years at USC cost about $120K

Steeltrap, where are you? You can back me up on this, I know you can!

Is that just undergrad? Tell me that included grad school. I am shocked at these numbers.

My sister goes to NYU as a transfer. I'm afraid that she will spend the next decade paying off student loans.
