Question pledging and money

I am a junior at HBCU and I am interested in joining a bglo but the pledging process along with the cost of membership does not sit well with me. I would love to hear any stories of how pledging is beneficial and what a bglo really is because some people call them a group of people with shared interests that form a bond and life long friendships, but others say that it is an organization of business that mixes with pleasure. I know that it is both but isnt that contradictory of the old phrase dont mix business with pleasure.

We wear matching underwear on Mondays. That's the only benefit. I hope you deem that worthy of your awesome sauce.

I'll actually answer this seriously.

Edit

Actually I will not because I didn't read your entire post and began typing a serious post on membership in BGLO and other networking orgs. But your question isn't serious and therefore does not deserve a serious answer. Had your post said this.

But since you added this:

Get some life experience first before you even consider joining a BGLO.

There are plenty of other types of orgs that you can join if a sorority "doesnt sit well" with you.
